Q&A With Amelia Bennett, Our PR & Communications Intern
As our summer here at Funk/Levis gets into full swing, we sat down with one of our new interns, Amelia, to find out about her background, her passions for PR and where she sees herself going in the future. One of the best parts of these Q&A’s has been discovering unique anecdotes about our interns like Amelia’s passion for flying and how she used to think she wanted to be a fighter pilot in the Air Force. Question: What is your year in school and major?
Amelia Bennett: I am a third year student at the University of Oregon majoring in public relations.
Q: Describe yourself in 3 words.
AB: Motivated. Diligent. Compassionate.
Q: If you didn’t have to sleep, what would you do with the extra time?
AB: I would spend my time writing and revamping my blog or enjoying some of my favorite hobbies that I grew up with, such as flying with my dad who is a pilot or hiking in the Pacific Northwest.
Q: If you suddenly became a master at woodworking, what would you make?
AB: I grew up kayaking and always had the idea to create my own. It would be a great way to explore new places in Oregon.
Q: What is your favorite social media platform and why?
AB: Instagram is my favorite social media platform because it allows for both pictures and words to create stories and to see people’s journeys.
Q: What is your greatest fear?
AB: As a motivated young professional in making, my greatest fear is not achieving the goals I have set in mind.
Q: What’s the best piece of advice you’ve received?
AB: I have lived by this quote since the moment I read it, “my passion is for myself and my purpose is for others”.
Q: What stat for your life would you most like to see?
AB: I would like to see if I have made a positive difference in anyone’s life. I believe caring about others and working hard to help individuals achieve an equal opportunity in this world is vitally important in life.
Q: If you didn’t work in PR and marketing, what job would you have?
AB: Before college, my dream was to be in the Air Force and fly fighter jets. Another option would be to work for a non-profit organization benefiting children.
Q: Where do you see yourself in 10 years?
AB: I hope to be living somewhere new, possibly California or New York, and working for a sector of PR such as non-profits or food/wine/lifestyle PR.
